MusiqueTropique™ Profile

Musique Tropique™ is a new record label devoted to spotlighting the best Caribbean, Latin, and African popular music that has not yet found its audience in the United States and Canada, and beyond.

Musique Tropique™ produces original material as well as scouring the globe for musical gems to license for release in the U.S. Musique Tropique™ is always on the lookout for exciting new artists and recordings, as well as also having a particular focus on classic lost African Diaspora music of the 1980s, out-of-print music which has never been released in the U.S.; which has never been released on CD; and which has never received radio airplay in the U.S.

Musique Tropique™ releases two to four CDs twice yearly, usually in early Spring, early Summer, and sometimes in early Fall when appropriate.

Each title released by Musique Tropique™ will be sent to World/College radio as well as progressive AAA and Tropical radio where appropriate and promoted for 2 months. Releases will also be accompanied by print promotion to World and select mainstream press; advertising in select national consumer and trade publications; co-op advertising; bin cards where possible; listening posts in select retail outlets; sale pricing for the first month of release at select retail outlets; and extensive Internet promotion and presence.

Each Musique Tropique™ full-length CD release is encased in a unique DigiPak™ made from a special premium recylced textured paper stock and especially designed for Musique Tropique™. Whenever possible, each CD will be accompanied by a lyric booklet, also of special premium paper stock. All printing is done with water-based soy inks. Musique Tropique™ is dedicated to providing the most environmentally-friendly packaging possible, while still ensuring that your CD will not sustain any damage or scratches that would interfere with your enjoyment of Musique Tropique™.

Musique Tropique™ was founded by 30-year World Music industry stalwart Pietro Giacomo Poggi, who is CEO/President while also overseeing A&R and production. Industry veteran David Somers is Vice-President of Internet Presence and staff producer and arranger.
