Musique Tropique™ licenses master recordings from domestic and international sources. Only in special and rare instances do we consider financing or producing new productions.

We are looking for completed or near completed recordings of original or substantially original material written by the performers appearing on the these recordings. Generally, we are seeking self-contained bands in tradition-based musical genres from the Caribbean, Louisiana, Africa, and the Latin Diaspora, which includes Flamenco, Nuevo Flamenco, and some Italiano music but not Pop, Euro-Pop; Norteno, Tex-Mex, or Rock En Español. Our preference is for working bands that are willing, able and ready to tour to promote their recordings. Generally, we are not interested in recordings or performing ensembles which feature synthesizers.

Any language is acceptable, so long as the lyrics are high-quality. All lyrics will appear in a booklet that will accompany each CD release on Musique Tropique™. Lyrics in any language other than English will be reproduced in that language as well as with an English translation.
